Biomedical Science at DMU

Hi i want to do biomed at dmu but not sure if its more coursework based or if it has exams because im way better at coursework.

Can anyone thats doing this course let me know if there are end of year exams at all?
If so, what percentage are the exams worth?

Thanks (:

Hiya!

Thanks for your question, and it is great to hear that you are interested in Biomedical Science and potentially at De Montfort University 😃

Regarding Assessments each topic or module will have a main assessment at the end of the module block. These assessments are based on real-world application of your skills and try best to pre-pare you for the world of work. These assessments include portfolios, presentations, case studies, lab reports, research papers, as well as quizzes and exams.

From contacting a friend who studies Medical Science at DMU, which is similar in assessment styles they said it depends on the module block as sometimes it could be 50% exam and 50% coursework. However this can vary and as said above be different depending on the block.

If you would like to try and find out specifics I would suggest contacting the faculty for Biomedical Science as they may be able to help further 😃
