Imperial, LSE, UCL masters in Finance/Business

Hey all,

I have just received my uni degree and I got a 64 from KCL (so a 2:1). I’m happy with it, and I have seen that Imperial, LSE and UCL ask for a 2:1 minimum for many degrees. Do they actually accept people with a 2:1 though? Or do they just say that and then only accept people with Firsts.

Hi @gamer11223344 ,

Firstly, Congratulations on your 2:1 in your degree!!!

Universities such as the ones you have stated are very competitive, meaning they probably have a lot of people apply who have both 2:1 and 1st. However, admission look for more than just the grades, such as your personal statement.
I do know of many people who have been able to get into masters programs within the universities you have stated with a 2:1. The goal is to meet the minimum requirement. Ensure you show why you'd like to do the course and how the course will help you in not only near future but far future.

Best of luck with your applications.

Hey! I'll be doing my masters at imperial for a different course this September. A 2:1 is a great grade to have and backed with the right experience and a genuine passion for the subject, you should be fine. In my application, I spoke about my experiences and how the masters I wanted to do would serve me some purpose (either learning new things or opening the doors to new sectors). I'd be happy to support you with your application!

Good luck.
