How highly are predicted grades regarded in med school applications?

For example if someone was predicted 3 a stars would top unis like imperial care. My biology teacher says that the unis know the predictions are inflated and therefore don't care. Would they trust predicted grades from a grammar school more than others?

I understand some medical schools don't even consider predicted grades so, at the very least, variable.

Medical schools are very transparent about their shortlisting methodologies and state extremely clearly on their websites exactly how they score applicants to shortlist for interview and which factors are scored. These also vary between each medical school.

Don't make the mistake of getting hung up on a single factor and thinking doing very well in it will guarantee you an interview for any medical school, or very poorly in it will prevent you from being considered by any medical school. Invariably they consider multiple factors and the exact extent to which they weight each varies wildly between the medical schools in the UK and you need to actually do your research to understand which score what to determine which medical schools you should apply to strategically to maximise your chances of an interview and hence offer.

Its quite possible for those with A* predictions to stuff-up UKCAT, not produce a particularly good PS, not have enough work experience, or the right attitudes/qualities, or just fail an interview. And Unis know that just 'being clever' doesn't always make you a good doctor - so they are looking for far more than just A* grades. And btw, it doesn't matter where you train as a doctor. Make sure you spread your 4 choices, and include some less 'glamorous' choices. It isnt a vanity context, and it certainly isnt 'first one to get an offer from Imperial is the winner'.
