did i do something wrong?

Basically this guy and me have been talking for a while now, I think he's amazing he thinks of me the same way. W e started to talk alot and he confessed he loved me and I did aswell but we both decided to keep a distance because of our religon (we've discussed our opinions over marriage and even joked it could work)

He would keep sending me stuff like I trust you so much and I'll never forget you and hes going to the US to visit his fam so he told me multiple times I will miss you. But recently I've been noticing how cold he is to me but nicer to to other people and I think he's bored of me. We usually banter but this time he just replied with like an 'ok' and I hate it. I dont understand how he can go so loving into such a cold person. Did I do something bad?
