applying to scottish unis for vet

I'm an English student wanting to study Veterinary Medicine and wanting to apply to both Glasgow and Edinburgh, but I've had several people say to me that it's a bad idea to apply to both Scottish unis? Not sure if its relevant but my other two choices would probably be Liverpool and Bristol. I don't know- a few people now have said to only apply to either Glasgow OR Edinburgh, not both.
Thoughts?

People likely say not to apply to both as they only have 35 places for uk students each (not including Scotland)
So narrowing your odds so much is probably not the best idea
As someone who got into both (Scottish) I will say that my choice between the was fairly easy as they are no try pretty different schools
So maybe research them more and go to open days before making a choice if you can

I've been to both open days and liked them both a lot... I really do want to apply to both but if it really is a bad idea I might have to rethink.

It’s not necessarily a bad idea but it might lower your chances
However saying that there’s only 45 places for Scottish students and I think it’s definitely doable to get in
If there’s no other schools that you like as much as the 4 you mentioned then maybe go for it

Remember the population of England/wales/NI is about 10 x bigger than Scotland so wouldn’t be wrong to assume a very much larger pool of potential applicants for 35 places.

Yes that’s true however there are many more options to apply to in England for vet school and a lot of the ruk applicants don’t apply to Scotland due to the low chance of getting in.
35 spaces compared to 150-300 eg Nottingham
