Does your uni have a retrieval period? At the end of each year my uni has 4 weeks set aside that we can make placement hours up or if we fail a placement we re do it.

Agree with what ponchokid said in reply 1 to you.

You need to complete every hour of the coursework by end of the three years of your degree to get your registration PIN from NMC.

You'll have to discuss with your university course leader and placement officer to arrange you to catch up with your missing placement hours.

Catching up with missus coursework is generally done by either you attending placement while you are still doing a current placement, or going in on your days off when attending university studying weeks... Another one is that you may have to do those days during any holidays you get at end of the term. So you need to discuss with your university asap about this one so you know what you are doing with things, last thing you need is failing.

Your mentor/supervisor will probably fail you for missing placement days which means you will have to repeat whole placement again. It's there decision what they say about you.

Hi there!

I'm a third-year student nurse at LJMU, but I have had to miss an entire placement (6 weeks). As mentioned, you need to complete 2300hrs of placement to be eligible to register with the NMC and receive your pin.

I worked extra shifts each week to make up the hours as much as possible, so I wasn't stressed by the time my management placement came. As also suggested, you should speak to your university and placement about making up your hours.

A lot of universities offer a retrieval period, where you can make up some leftover hours

Hi
You are welcome 🤗 🤗 🤗
Hopefully the future will be fine for you as a nurse 😀.
Try not to miss anything unless you are absolutely seriously ill but unfortunately if you have to miss any of your coursework then that's just how life goes and you understand you have to make it up eventually.

Good luck 🤞 🤞
