The Student Room Group

GCSE results

Hello, I am 46 and I have twenty years experience working in partnership with the government and the UK Space Agency. I am a commercial strategy expert and advise them and high growth tech companies on sales, brand development and intellectual property strategy and processes. I have also had my own award winning innovations with multiple patents globally, design rights and copyrights and negotiated my own licensing agreements and drafted my own IP applications. So, i have plenty of real life experience in IP. However, i come from a poor family and was mistreated as a youth and failed my education. I received two A's in creative subjects but received a D in English and an E in maths (GCSEs.) I am looking for advice as to if my work and life experience would enable me to successfully apply for a PG Cert in IP Law. I would appreciate any student advice or opinion, specifically from someone who has first hand experience and been in a similar situation, be it law or another subject? Thank you in advance.
Hi @Post007 - I'd recommend taking a look into applying through Clearing! It's when universities can be more flexible with entry requirements.

I'd suggest including your work experience in your personal statement so that unis can consider this alongside your qualifications too.

In the case of Bournemouth University, you can apply over the phone with an agent and depending on your eligibility, we may be able to make you an offer there and then.

There's some useful resources about how it all works here: https://www.bournemouth.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/clearing
