Medicine-related Gap year ideas?

Hello there,

I am reapplying this year for Medicine, but not sure on how to spend my gap year productively to support my application. Definitely not going abroad, as haven't got the funds for it currently. Please do share some of your ideas or any past reapplicants, please do tell what you did for your gap year, if you don't mind...

Thanks in advance
Hi! It's relatively easy to get an assistant job in a community pharmacy with zero experience. I know pharmacy isn't your degree choice but any medical experience will be beneficial. Or perhaps try GP surgery receptionist roles. You might get lucky applying to hospital roles but they are much harder to get even with relevant experience. I've heard care homes can be a good one too. You could also see if there are any free courses you can do relevant to medicine such as through the Open University. You could even get certain certificates & qualifications that way. Good luck for your application & gap year!
