help with A2 Maths

In the A2 Pure Textbook for Edexcel Chapter 4.1 (Binomial Expansion), it says that (a+b)^n = a^n + nC1 + a^(n-1)*b + nC2... but i thought u multiple the nCr by the next term, not add?

You do! That looks like a misprint if it's exactly as you've written it.

We sent our copies back years ago ... the first edition had quite a few mistakes.
