Greenhead or Loreto sixth form?

I've been accepted into both Greenhead and Loreto and I have no idea which to go to. I'm planning on doing comp sci, maths, theology, and art if that affects anything. They both take roughly the same time to travel but if I go to Greenhead it's going to be a pain to get to if the trains aren't running. I also just think all the teachers I saw at Loreto were nicer (had a 10 minute argument with the interview man about doing 4 A-levels at Greenhead haha). Although they're both good for unis Loreto specifically works with mcr and I need that bursary to afford it lmao. I'm also just scared of Yorkshire tbh. The only things that are making me unsure is that even tho they're both prestigious and all, Greenhead is like literally one of the best in the country. And also my RE teacher went there and I just really like her haha. If any of you could give me any advice you would literally be my saviour my current plan is to wait for a sign from God and that isn't very fruitful haha

greenhead is great but it isn’t worth the travel, i had to get to college from halifax by car and it would take around 30 minutes. it’s a great college and experience but loreto would probs be better

nothing scary abt yorkshire haha but i've heard huddersfield is a bit of a rough area

because of its reputation, greenhead is known to put a lot of pressure on its students, i've had many friends who went there and said it was really rough on their mental health

seems like loreto would be more helpful and more convenient to get to as well !!!

Is it really that bad for mental health? A few people I know are going solely bc they thought it was good for mental health but a few people have told me it's a bit awful. I always thought Huddersfield was dead posh as well so thanks for your help!

omg i promise you . huddersfield is far from posh. there's some neighbourhoods surrounding it with fancyish houses but ??? hudds itself is a bit naff. the university isn't too bad though, it's gold-rated and they have plenty of international students coming for the specific courses they offer.

but yeah greenhead might not be best for mental health ☹️ my friends said it was crazy stressful for them

First things first, I need to tell you something.

DON'T BE SCARED OF YORKSHIRE. It's an awesome place to be and the people are very friendly. There are some dodgy parts here and there, but you find those in every city and county, not just Yorkshire. I have a few friends at Greenhead and from what I've heard, it's a massive mix of different cultures. It's also a massive mix of abilities and behaviours, but the environment is intensive and if you feel like you generally perform well under pressure, then Greenhead is good for you because their environment will set you up for success.

Now to business. Just purely off what you say in your post, I can say for sure it sounds like you like Loreto far more than Greenhead. Greenhead might be better, but at the end of the day, if you don't like the school, then you will have a miserable two years ahead of you. Don't go off going into unis, because the reputation of the school you go to is irrelevant in their decision making process. I mean, sure the support offered will vary from school to school, but universities will look far more into your own merit and secondly, both schools, from what you describe, sound like they are top tier in what they offer.

Go with what you like with the schools itself, rather than studying their respective reputations, and it's the same advice for applying to university, but get to that when that time of year comes around for you. Focus on the present for now.

I went to loreto and it’s honestly a really good college from the teachers to the clubs to the events they do. They offer travel bursary to people who can’t get an OUR pass and personally all the events they do e.g bringing workers from top firms in industries honestly helped me decide what i wanted to pursue at uni. Also the form teachers are really supportive and help with any issues you have.
