I'm intimidated by the prospect of the option to go to a university near/in London because of London itself. It's a mega city with a high population and competition is everywhere. It'd imagine the pressure to be immense, and plus my social anxiety goes through the roof, thinking all the new people I could meet. Yeah idk

You always have the option of going somewhere else if you don’t feel comfortable

Oh, I know, but it's daunting to have this fear(?) I want to get rid of it . It doesn't feel the same when I think about visiting other megacities worldwide, and I've visited NYC. Maybe it's the fear of actually living in the city or the diversity in London. Either way, I want to get rid of it

Okay OP I feel it could be anything else that is causing anxiety to you and is being projected through this fear. Have you had any traumatic experiences in the past which you might want to reflect upon

Hi,
I understand this can be daunting, I definitely had some these worries before moving to Kingston.
I feel Kingston is a good balance because it is just outside the centre of London, it is it's own town and nowhere near as intense. There is lots of nature and it feels like more of a community and a uni town to me.
But then you still get all the benefits of living in London as you can easily get into the centre and make the most of the opportunities it has to offer.
I feel like whichever university you go to you are going to meet lots of new people, but what is nice about Kingston is when you go out you see familiar faces as it isn't as busy as central London. So maybe a good option would be to go to a university that is near London but not in the centre.
I have also found there is lots of support at Kingston and so whatever university you go to take advantage of this and use the support around you.

Hi there,
Amazing that you're considering going to university in London, we understand this can come with a lot of change but the city is truly amazing and has an endless amount of opportunities! Despite being a big city, your university will provide opportunities to meet likeminded people and host events that will ease you into London life! Personally I feel that London has an exciting buzz about it, once you've made a few friends at university you might be able to commute with them or can organize studying together or going out.
