Postgraduate Doctoral Student loan

Applied and been given a Postgraduate Doctoral loan. In the online information it says that the loan will be paid in 3 instalments of 33%, 33% and 34% each year.
My information received with the loan confirmation letter says that mine will be paid over 4 years?
Just wondered if anyone could explain why?

Thanks

Hi Alina,

Can you please clarify what you're unsure about? Are you asking why the loan is paid over 4 years?

Thanks, Graeme

Yes. In the What you get paid" section. https://www.gov.uk/doctoral-loan/what-you-get on the government site it states that it will be paid over three years. I just wondered why mine said 4 years.
Not complaining, just wondered why it was different from the information.Screenshot 2024-07-14 at 09.55.56.png

Sorry the pic didn't come out properly and is too small

Hi Alina,

The only reason we would pay the loan over 4 years is if the course is 4 years long. Have you only applied for a 3 year course?

Thanks, Drew

Ah, I'll double check. 4th year might be writing up year. Thanks for your help
