History vs Chemistry A-level

I'm going to chose A-level Biology and Psychology both AQA I loved Biology in GCSE and It was my favourite and the one I did best at, I did AQA Higher combine. I haven't done GCSE psychology and the sixth form that I'm going to is with their secondary schoal and the also don't do Psychology, and I read the first few topic and It really interest me and I'm planing on doing a psychology degree l, but I'm not sure if I should do History which I did at GCSE and I was predicted a grade 8 and I really love it, the sixth form does AQA and the do Germany which I also did at GCSE which I enjoyed, or should I do Chemistry also AQA which at GCSE was actually really good but I struggle with the math part but I know in A-level they reteach that so it fine, but how hard is it?, in General most of the graph questions I didn't quit understand at GCSE for all science but my knowledge really help me which I predicted a 8-8 or above. AS I said I want to do a psychology degree, I probably do clinical psychology or a neuropsychology so which one would be best History as an essay base or as another science, i know that if I put the effort from the beginning I would definitely be able to gain good grade.

For a psychology degree, A-level Biology and Psychology you'll be all set. I would recommend a third A-level in something you're interested in. Although i have two points you should keep in mind.

1.

You can usually change a-levels within the first week or two (at least you could do in my sixth-form) so keep a open mind

2.

An A-level in chemistry would help with having more options in regards to uni degrees. Just in case you decide to apply for something else, a bio & chem combination will satisfy a lot of entry requirements.

If your struggled with the maths in gcse chem then you'd probably want to take core maths with your a levels if you opt for the chem route, or if you'd like to be more confident with the calculations and data in bio and psych.
If you love history and think you'll do well then I'd suggest taking that but if you're unsure maybe your sixth form will allow you to take all 4 to begin with and then drop one after a few weeks or the first term or whatever when you understand better which of history and chem you'd prefer to study.
Hope this helps you out, happy to try to answer any questions if you have them. Have a great day

Hi! I do bio/chem/product design. I really recommend going for what you enjoy and love. If you want to study psychology, the most important subjects for you would be psychology and a science which would be bio as you've said. I regret picking chemistry, but that is only because I really struggled back in GCSE and that transcended in my A-Leves, I wish I had picked psychology, a subject that I would have absolutely adored. I'm someone who'd work better in a subject that they enjoy rather than one that sounds/looks good on a report card. Go for what you love not what sounds best. For a psychology you would be all set with bio and psych, if you're more likely to get a higher grade in history than chem go for it. But chem being a science may still really help! Wishing you all the best☺️

Just to let you know the Maths for chemistry isn’t extremely difficult, if you’re decent / good at algebra I think you’ll be fine but that’s just my opinion
