Deferred entry in personal statement

Hi! I’m currently writing my personal statement for undergrad biotechnology course in different unis. I’m sure 100% that I want to take a gap year (deferred entry), I’ll be applying through the UCAS to the following year and it says on the website of my first choice uni that I must clearly state how I purpose to spend my time during this gap year. How should I write about it in my personal statement, I mean structurally and what kind of words to use??
Also my second problem is that English is not my first language and by the end of year 13 I’ll only get my B2 certificate, but my uni asks for C1. Can I mention in this personal statement that by the end of my gap year I’ll get my C1 certificate and still get an offer (or I’ll be automatically rejected at the very beginning because I don’t already have my C1 certificate???)
Help!

Hello! For the personal statement I'd suggest clearly highlighting what experiences you feel you still need to engage in to be more prepared for the course. That could be anything like summer courses on this particular topic or internships with a certain focus on biotech. This gives the reader more clarity that you have indeed planned out your gap year to fill the gaps in your current resume. Then to substantiate your plans- perhaps provide general examples of what opportunities are available near you to help gain those experiences and do aim to partake in at least one of them so that you have evidence of achieving your aims for the gap year should the uni ever follow-up on this!

Also about the C1 certificate, I think it's best to call/email the uni admissions team and directly obtain their opinion on this matter!

All the best with your applications and do well in your gap year!
