Near Miss overtaking tractor

I've got myself abit worked up worrying. I've just been driving home from work and down a stretch of road I overlook a tractor. As I was overtaking the tractor indicated right and started turning whilst I was mid over taking. Obviously the tractor user had to brake and beeped his horn at me, but he hadn't indicated before I started overtaking or I hadn't seen him indicate. Would this qualify as driving without due care? Panicking thinking I'm going to be reported

If the tractor turned right, did it turn into a road or a field? If a road, then you were in violation rule 167 of the highway code which lists several situations where you must not overtake. It starts:

"167
DO NOT overtake where you might come into conflict with other road users. For example
* approaching or at a road junction on either side of the road"

Even if the tractor does report you, they don't tend to have dash cams fitted, so it would be their word against yours.

It was turning into a field. The opening was hidden in some bushes so I didn't even know it was there. I'm more embarrassed/with myself. Lesson learnt either way.

If they weren't indicating then it's kind of mixed blame, but as above if it was nearing a junction you should have probably waited to be sure.

Push comes to shove you have to anger most drivers a LOT before they'll think to take the various effort to report it. I drive for a living and if I reported every jerk who cut me off etc I'd never get anything done. (also bad karma, it's not like I'm perfect)
