Short or Long Readings

Hi,

Is including references to long books/novels pertaining to your subject better than including papers and studies that tackle particular areas you might be interested in (e.g. an academic paper about cognitive development in childhood by. a reputable professor). Do universities usually want to see references to books rather than research papers? Please let me know! Thanks.

Unis do not want quotes or citations in a PS. They want evidence of your 'academic engagement with the subject'. They want to see your reflection/thoughts about the extra reading etc you have done. You might find the advice here useful - good for all Unis - Guide-to-Super-curriculars.pdf (ox.ac.uk)
