A LEVEL class assessments

Hi! Hope i don't sound too stupid but I'd like to ask- how does grading work exactly in sixth form compared to GCSE? The same way we get end of topic assessments, do they also do that at A level?

Yes, we also get topic tests for each topic and you can get a grade from A-U (my sixth form doesn’t do A*’s in Yr12), every 3 months you get a mock and in June you do an End-of-Year test. This will mainly determine your predicted grade for Uni along with previous mocks, topic tests and homework.

This will depend on the school but in my experience at least for STEM, yes I had end of topic assessments.

Grading again, depends on the school, are you in England by the way (I’m asking things because things are different in England vs Wales and Northern Ireland AFAIK)?

Grades at A-level are usually lettered and grades would be an A*, A, B, C, D, E or U rather than a numbered system like it is for most GCSEs in England.
