Online nonsense about the Trump shootingg

"The commentary has ranged from suggestions on the right that the president, Joe Biden, solicited the violence and should be charged with a crime, to those on the left suggesting that the shooting is a hoax meant to bolster Trump’s flagging poll figures."

There will always be conspiracy theories. There is no way to avoid it.
Except if Biden did it, he couldn't be charged with a crime, because the Supreme Court have granted Presidents immunity 😏

Clearly a false flag operation.
Trump is a coward but to see him almost fighting the Secret Service to stand before the crowd, fist raised, face splattered with 'blood', shouting "fight, fight, fight", you'd think he was some invincible superhero.
And then the "shooter" is conveniently killed before he can be questioned?
Come on...🙄

And now it turns out that members of the public reported seeing an armed man to security personnel, but nothing was done.
Questions need to be answered!!!

Along with a nearby roof not being monitored, this is a bit of an embarassment for the security services involved.
I have seen more theories that the shooting was fake and set-up by Trump than those claiming Biden was involved.

Not even not being monitored but multiple groups reporting to have tried to get security's attention. How do you have tens of people pointing and yelling, acknowledge them, and then ignore it?

Your emotional response suggests you are very triggered. Just take a 5 minute scroll through X, a lot of the initial responses were that this were set-up by Trump to gain support.

Some conspiracy theories.
To be fair it's not as if they left haven't gone overboard with their statements.

Remember when the US comedian Kathy Griffin held a replica decapitated Trump head. Johnny Depps comment about "it's time to kill Trump" and finally Bidens target on his back remark.

I do think the left in the US do have to maybe shoulder some of the responsibility for the inflamation of tension. I dislike Trump but the incessant comparisons to Hitler and far right dictatorship will continue to make him a target to deranged individuals and it needs to stop.

It is foolishness of political discourse. It is stupid to compare everyone that you disagree with to Adolf Hitler.

True, but most people don't do that.
However, it is reasonable to compare wannabe authoritarian dictators to past authoritarian dictators.
And come on, you have to agree that "Wotsit Hitler" is pretty funny!

It is not funny and a bit silly imho.

Hitler is one of the worst humans in recent histories and it is foolish for one to default to comparing a leader to him whenever they disagree with the individual.

I see that with other people who simply label any view to be “extreme” when it is not.

*sigh*
People aren't comparing Trump to Hitler because they disagree with him. That is quite a silly accusation.

People are comparing Trump to Hitler because of the similarities in their political campaigning, etc.
If the Professor of Germanic Studies at Sheffield University appreciates there is some common ground, who are we to argue?

Typical behaviour from liberals to make that comparison lol.
