Student accommodation and cleaning

I’ve read that the en-suite and rooms usually get cleaned by the facility, is that common? And how safe is it to have a cleaner come into your room? How often is stuff stolen and so people lock anything? I am mostly worried because of medications, but honestly I am not the most trusting person and don’t know if I am comfortable with this. Curious how this actually works versus in my head. Thank you.

Hello, Coventry University Student Ambassador here!👋

If you don't mind me asking, what area are you interested in booking accommodation in? In my experience, unless the accommodation specifically mentions it, the personal rooms, en-suits, studios, etc. do not get cleaned, only the common areas. This is due to security reasons, as well as spent resources, most times students have to clean their own rooms, as well as the common area in the shared flat. The only instances in which staff may enter your room with or without you present is for mandatory or requested maintenance, with the purpose of upkeep.

Have a good one!
