Talking to a 30 y/o guy as a 20 y/o

I’m a 20 year old girl and the guy I’m talking to online is 30. Haven’t met up with him in person and I don’t ever intend to but I enjoy chatting to him online and I’m lonely and bored so it helps with that. His profile on the app we met on had his age range as 26-29 so I expected him to be a few years younger than he his and it turns out he has two daughters which I also didn’t expect. Him having kids feels especially weird tbh, he says he’s no longer with their mum but it still feels kinda weird to be talking to a guy when I’m closer to daughter’s age than his. Even though we’re both adults I still think it would be really weird to have an actual relationship with him but I don’t ever intend to meet up with him in person so surely it’s fine to just be talking to him. Just feels weird lol.

I know some people who date with a year gap of 10-20 years!

MAYBE when he did his profile he WAS 29 ?. Either way I dont know why you are worried about the gap. Don't fall down with shock here but I have been in a 35 year age gap relationship/friendship

I know it sounds strange... but as long as they were both over 18 years old when things got "heated", and they were both genuinely happy, it doesn't really matter.

Michael Douglas is 25 years older than Catherine Zeta Jones, and the two of them have been married since the year 2000. Besides, I'm not going to mention names, but there's a regular poster here who I believe has had relationships with an even bigger age gap than the one mentioned by Anon#2

Yes both over 18. Look I know it is strange but at end of day life strange in someways. No advantages taken and both happy. The younger party often wants some stability and maturity in their life and that is given. Maybe not had such in their earlier lives , often 1 parent missing for various reasons etc, and thus they seek it out. Someone on TSR
mentioned President Macron of France, he ended up marrying his Teacher (and still is now) after she fell in love with him.
That was a true love story and they are still very happy.
