Will i get student finance in my final year

I went to a different uni to the one i am at now and dropped out. And after completing my first year at the new one i now have to return part time to redo subjects that ive failed. From my understamding there is a 4 year cap. Would i get funding if my education looks like this:
Fulltime(drop out) - Fulltime - PART TIME - Fulltime - Fulltime
NB. I've moved your thread to the Ask SFE section where you should get an official answer.
Hi there,

Do you mean you are returning part time to complete what you have failed and then once you pass this you will be back to full time? Is your university classing you as a student in attendance or not in attendance? You only have 1 year of previous study at a different course and the 1 year at the new course?

Thanks, Drew

Hi there,

I would need to advise you to speak to the university to find out how they will class you. Do you know if they will charge you the Tuition Fee Loan?

Thanks, Drew

Hi there,

You must be classed as in attendance by the university to be eligible for any finance. You will need to speak to them regarding this to find out and how much Tuition Fees they will charge you.

Every student is entitled to funding for the length of their course plus one additional year, minus any previous study. Based on what you have advised it maybe your Tuition Fees are blocked for your repeat year due to your previous study. We won't know for definite till you apply and an assessor can review this.

If you have Compelling Personal Reasons evidence (CPR) why you need to repeat, then you would need to send this to us and it may be possible to get the finance for it. The evidence would be a letter on headed paper signed/stamped and dated from someone in profession i.e. Doctor/lecturer who knows the CPR. They must know how it affected your studies and the dates it affected you. Once received it will be up to the assessor if this will be accepted or not.

Thanks,
Claire

Hi,

I will be classed as in attendance as a part time student i am relearting due to failing modules. My fear is that i will not get student finance and funding in my final year due to having 2 years at university already with this part time year it would take me up to a total of 4 years full time and 1 year part time. Will i get student finance for my final year?

My education will look like this:
Full time - then dropped out
Full time
Part time
Full time
Full time

Hi there. When we assess your eligibility for Tuition Fee, any years you have remaining always go to the final year of your course to ensure you can finish this. As mentioned above, we cannot guarantee anything from here and we would advise that you submit your application to allow our assessors to review this and they will notify you of your entitlement and what years of the course would be funded. Thanks, David
