Burnt out/low mood/depressed

I’m in year 13,I have never been so bored in my life, I’m not going to uni and struggling to decide whether a policing and UPS course at college is for me, I’ve left it too late yes I’m aware, then later go to uni once completed this course. I’m just so bored and have no motivation or energy to do anything, I feel really sad about leaving sixth form, hence only been there for two years rather than 7 years like the majority of others in year 13. I feel really sad and unmotivated, just want to stay in bed all day, I need something to do but I’m unable to enjoy anything and I just really miss studying and seeing my peers and teachers as a whole, I feel like time has stopped and I’m missing out. Just so bored with nothing to do and nothing that I completely enjoy anymore. Felt the same last summer, however, more severe, could this be seasonal affective disorder?

Do you have hobbies? Interests? Is their activities you enjoy doing?

Maybe you could take a walk or join a club, meet up etc.

-Mental Health 24/7: 0800 008 6516

You can self refer yourself to talking therapies on the NHS website.

You can join support groups

You can contact a crises team if things get very bad

There is also the Mental Health Society Thread, where you probably find some help.

Otherwise: It can be a lot of stuff, all under the umbrella of depression, but cause/effect/stage etc. can be different.

Depression can come out of no-where or it can be triggered. You know best.

Otherwise, I am not the right one to ask, I haven't found out yet, but some tipps:

Read yourself up about mental health.

Try sports.

It is allowed to be sad and it is a big decision, what to do after sixth form, BUT it is not that big and you will have several chances to redirect your life, in case you make the wrong choice.

Look that you get enough sleep and eat regularly. To avoid, that you might get into a downward spiral.

Be social.

Get a light alarm clock.

Find something to occupy yourself, and if it is a stupid, super easy job, just to give yourself a routine and the feeling "Yeah, I did this today.".

If you miss studying, learn a language, do a first help course, do a driver license (car, tractor, maybe a professional one for wheelloader?), ...

I am not allowed to drive due to a medical condition which affects my consciousness and awareness however, since making this thread I’m feeling a little happier on the odd day and I’ve got a little more motivation (to clean my room) through watching room cleaning motivation videos on YouTube and it really helped, there isn’t much progress been made in my room but I have gotten it in my head that it’s still progress, also been out with a friend and I felt that because I kept an eye on what I was spending and deciding if I really liked something before buying it and will I still really like it next month really made a positive impact on my mood. However I’m still pretty struggling and are going to try and talk to a GP and possibly get some tests done to see if I’m low in vitamin D as when I was in sixth form my head of year suggested that I may be feeling depressed and tired, also sickly due to low vitamin D
