Cross-Contediental Culture Shocks in Schools

Hello! I am an American student in 9th grade (10th in the UK). I have studied at both American, and British Schools from when I lived there for a while. The school systems are no doubt very different, but if anyone has some questions for me about either country, please feel free to ask!

is it true that a lot of, if not most, American schools don't have school uniforms? and is there any particular reason why? just always wondered 😁

This is dependent a lot on where you live. Where I live in Chicago a traditional Polo and Kakies are common, however the majority of schools do not use them. Considerably in newer areas like California the % of school uniforms is a lot lower, than in Boston, a much older city. I think another big part is at the time that the US rebelled, a lot of things the UK did were very controversial. So cities like Boston that were under UK rule were more common, vs places in Georgia, where US was in control of. In addition style here varies a lot, where in places like Illinois (specifically Chicago) it’s a lot more abstract and *ahem* weird 😅. Hope this helps 👍.
