Hi all, can someone explain ro me, if I finish on end of the month, I will go on normal uc till I will apply for second y of my course? Or if I want to give up on second y I need to give straight away money back to finance?

You can't usually claim UC if you are a full-time student. Maintenance loans include an amount to cover the summer holidays. There are some exceptions:

If you withdraw from your course part way through an academic year, you might be required to repay some of your maintenance loan back immediately. This is calculated on a pro-rata basis. If you withdraw just before the second year starts, you wouldn't be required to pay anything back straight away. Standard loan repayments would start the April after you withdrew if you are earning over the threshold for your loan (£25,000 if you're on plan 5).
