english nea

i’m thinking of doing the bell jar for my nea i need a pre 1900 book to compare it too anyone have any tips i was thinking of doing a dolls house regarding the theme of marriage n gender
Hi. I’ve read both these texts, and did A Doll’s House for my NEA.

I think marriage might be a bit of a struggle considering the narrator never gets married in the Bell Jar (although of course she does have the option to). Perhaps gender and freedom would be better?
