Laptop for Uni

i’m going to study business analytics which includes learning and using softwares such as Python and R programming. i’m not sure what type of laptop I should buy. Can I get some suggestions please

I don’t think so i’m going to be living on campus and accommodation is a 7 minute walk from the management school

That's pointing towards a 15.6" laptop being the ideal size for you.

Offer £250 for this rather nice HP 855 G7:
HP 855 G7 on ebay

Install Linux (eg Debian with KDE Plasma) on it for a nicer platform for Python, R and general student use.
