Do you need a new reference and personal statement for clearing

I'm unlikely to go through my five choices. So I'm wondering if for clearing you need to get another reference and personal statement? Or does I just use the same

Hey @Negieren,

Universities generally do not require a reference or personal statement for most applications, unless requested by a tutor after an initial referral.

This could be something I would recommend you check with the uni's/courses you will be looking at applying through clearing with.

Thanks,

Hi Negieren,
If you wanted to apply for us, (The University of Exeter) via clearing you can complete an application form directly from those course listings, here.

If you are accepted, our admissions team will ask you to formally submit your UCAS application to the University so that an official offer can be made, meaning you do not need to re-write your personal statement, nor get a new reference. However, there is usually a deadline to complete this step as admissions may not be able to hold that place indefinitely while we are still getting more applications. If you are not already registered in UCAS you will need to complete this before you can accept a clearing offer from us.

Although, each university will handle clearing enquiries or applications in a slightly different way so care needs to be taken to check with each institution how they would consider you in clearing.

Good luck!

Best wishes,
Sophie, University of Exeter Student Ambassador.
