I was fired from Sainsbury’s can I get rehired?

I was fired from Sainsbury’s 4 years ago I’ve been working at another supermarket ever since but had to leave for personal reasons. I was fired because I was on disciplinary for failing my think 25 and then I got fired for leaving work 4 minutes earlier. It was really small but I’ve applied this year and got an interview. I was wondering if there is a point of going into my interview because I’m not sure if I can still be rehired despite being fired even though it was 4 years ago

Thanks

I'm sure if they've sent an interview then they'll consider taking you on. Maybe your commitment to the other supermarket has shown you've grown in their eyes so they could take you on.

If they have offered you an interview then they must be considering taking you on.
Is it at the same store of the supermarket or a different one?

I know its sainsburys. What i was asking was if it was the same branch of sainsburys that you were applying for or a different branch.
If its a different branch then you should be pretty safe.

It’s a different branch do you think I should mention I got fired in the interview or not mention it

Not necessarily be safe to get re-employed by Sainsbury's.

By right Emily they should really be checking there files on computer to see if the person was previously employed with Sainsbury's and they should see the reasons why they were dismissed. Then they should decide whether or not to offer a interview to the OP.

To be honest I don't think being dismissed for going home four minutes early is serious enough to be dismissed.
The think 🤔 💬 25 situation should have been handled better by offering re-traing and perhaps being supervised for a certain time as I wonder how many staff members were sacked//dismissed by Sainsbury's for doing the exact same thing as the OP....

I wouldn't mention it. Not unless they say anything.
They could check the files and possibly see if you were emoloyed at another store (which they could ask about). And possibly that you were fired from another store. But if it hasn't come to their attention that you were fired, then I wouldn't mention it unless they do.

Yeah it was really silly there was even a chance to give me a final warning but he skipped straight to dismissal. It was years ago anyway. Do you think the notes will still be in my name when I attend the interview . I don’t want to waste my time going in if fired they might not want to employ me

Normally employers keep files of previous employers in a safe place ( backup) so they can look back if they reapply again in the future.

Did you not have to put down your previous employment history on the application with perhaps a reason why you left.

Yeah sounds silly stuff with employers as they should have probably offered you a warming or final one and stating that next time you are dismissed.

Wasting your time going in - I'm just wandering if they have checked your previous employment history with them or not because of you getting a interview but saying that it's possible that they given you a opportunity to work with them although in a different store.
Suggest that you go to the interview and see what happens when you arrive and if you get asked anything about why you left previously then you can explain it 🤔 what have you got to lose apart from going along to the interview.

They usually put a red mark against your name so Sainsbury’s don’t hire you in the future if you’ve been sacked, it’s unusual you have an interview but I wouldn’t mention it unless you get asked about it, I only know as I was a CTM there
