Can you I apply for the NHS LSF without taking any loans from the student finance ?

Is it possible to apply to the student fiance to only get the student loan award letter (which can be used as an evidence to show the NHS LSF that i may meet the eligibility criteria to receive the bursary ?? )
I am planning to study radiography but i wanna self fund my tuition fees for uni, however i heard that healthcare students can get a 5k bursary which i wanna apply for but i have not applied to the student fiance .....I am not sure what to do shall i apply now or wait unitl i start uni ....

Also ,after getting the student loan award letter am i able to cancel the my student fiance application loan before the payment process takes place as i want to self fund my tuition fees ? But i also need the letter to apply for the bursary ...

Please suggest any advice

The NHS LSF is available to students who study at a uni in England. Apply to SFE now and then cancel the application once you receive the award letter. You will have to repeat this process each year that you apply for the NHS LSF.

Once i cancel the application no payment will go through to the university right ??

My daughter is not getting student loan but applying for LSF. We filled in the student loan request and put £0 with a day we got emailed the confirmation of approved application that we can use to evidence eligibility. Sharing in case useful to others

Did you put £0 for both tuition loan and maintenance loan or just the maintenance loan? Thank you in advance

Yes we did, the eligibility certificate came the next day. We haven’t applied for the LSF as she managed to get a medicine place on results day but we could of used the certificate to apply
