Year 12 Work Experience

Hello, I'm finishing year 12 and going in year 13. However, unlike many of my peers, I haven't been able to get any proper work experience yet in real life. I've done 1 or 2 virtual work experiences for law, but I don't think this is as good as actually experiencing a law work experience in real life. Now I'm worried that i am falling behind my peers who have been accepted into renowned work places. What should I do? Is year 12 work experience really that important?
