Oxford Brookes University - Clearing 2024

Hi all 🙂,

We have created this thread to provide more information about Clearing. You can see our answers to some frequently asked questions regarding Clearing below.

Clearing FAQs

Q: What courses will be in Clearing?

A: You can find which courses are in Clearing through our website or by calling our Clearing line. Please be aware that course availability in Clearing may change based on demand.

Q: What information will I need to provide for my Clearing application?
A: We will need your Level 3 qualifications (e.g. A Levels, BTECs etc) and we may need your Level 2 qualifications (GCSE, Functional Skills etc) as well as your personal details such as name, email address, phone number etc.

Q: How does Clearing work?

A: Firstly, please check if the course you are interested in is available in Clearing. If it is, you can contact us to start the application process or complete the Tell Us Your Grades form. You will need to provide information about your qualifications and personal details such as your name, phone number, and email address. After you provide this information, several different scenarios can occur. If you meet the requirements of the course, you may receive an offer over the phone. Alternatively, your course may have additional requirements, such as an interview or portfolio submission. In this case, your application will be referred to the Faculty for further assessment. If you do not meet the requirements for the course, we will consider whether a relevant Foundation course is available and assess your eligibility for that. If you receive an offer, we will send you an email with next steps.

Q: Can I transfer to Oxford Brookes/enter with credit from another institution through Clearing?
A: We can consider credit entry applications through Clearing. Please submit a copy of your current transcript and a brief outline of the modules you are studying to the Clearing team ([email protected]) along with your UCAS Personal ID number.

Q: How will I know if I am in Clearing?
A: You will need to log in to your UCAS Hub and it should state whether you are in Clearing or not.

Q: Can I defer/undefer my application on results day/after results day?
A: We can process a deferral request on Results Day and after Results Day. Please complete the deferral form and we will review your request.

Q: I have an offer, can I go into Clearing?
A: You will need to release yourself from your choice to go into Clearing.

Q: Do I need to inform Student Finance England about this change?
A: Yes you will need to inform Student Finance England about the change through the Student Finance portal.

We hope this helps, but if you have any other questions about Clearing, please feel free to post them in this thread, or you can contact us through our other channels via this webpage.

Best wishes,
Shannon
