Since dec/jan , but I don’t think you need to start that early, prioritize your weaknesses and it should be fine!

I used Medify but I’ve hear Medentry is good aswell. I completed 14 mocks! But I also know people who still scored very well ( 3000+ ) but only completed 5-6 mocks, so I think overall it depends on your practice and technique.

How did you most effectively build your technique? Timing? Is it common tricks that they use to catch you out? I am sitting my UCAT in 2 weeks and my scores are mediocre and inconsistent.

hey, how did you get a Band 1 in SJT (assuming you did bc you did so well). I'm okay with the other 4 section and I have a decent understanding of the SJT core principles but keep getting 1-2 marks off band 1 each time

how many days would you say you revised daily (since dec/jan)? Also how would you deal with inconsistent results from mocks??

It is scored equally and randomly allocated.

It is correct to say though that the average score published at the interim point is normally higher than the final average figures. Logically therefore, this must mean that the average scores of those doing it late are lower towards the end.

That is not saying anything negative about the way it is scored. It is just a fact.

It could be that people at the start are very keen and extra motivated; also it could be because some people at the end do it with little practice or prep because they have unfortunately just missed their grades and have lost their offers, so need to sit the UCAT at short notice if they wish to reapply. Also those doing it in Sept are having to do their PS and broader applications and return to school, and often exams at the start of term. So divided focus.

While practicing UCAT mocks in non timed conditions for certain sections like quantitative reasoning I would practice a question in half the time recommended for example for 14 seconds I would try do it in 7 seconds, I think this definitely helped my timing bc in the actual UCAT for quantitative reasoning I realised I had more time than I actually needed which let me check over my answers ultimately allowing me to score 900 on that section. I mainly feel like lots of people have a different technique that works for them - to build technique I used to go over mock UCAT in non timed conditions, I would carefully look at the question and what it’s asking, then I would look at the answer this kind of gave me an understanding and allowed me to think of an effective technique to use.

I was also stuck on band 2 , I suppose it was mostly practice, I didn’t score band 1 on any of my mocks - only in the real thing. Mostly I feel like SJT is like the more you practice the better band you’ll get. ( atleast that was what is was like for me )

I tried to revise 15-30 mins everyday but realistically probably 1 in 2/3 days. I would look over my mock stats and first practice the section I scored the lowest in, then after I got a consistent score on that section I would move on to the next section I scored low in ect. After completing adequate practice on all sections which normally took 5-7 days in Jan-April or 2-3 days in May-July I would do another mock test and carry out the same procedure.

Medify mocks I got scores from 2500>s<3500. Official UCAT mocks I got scores from 2900>s<3500. Overall I did better on my official ucat mocks bc I did them after adequate revision using the medify mocks.
