Childcare grant - student finance

Hi,

Both me and my partner will be classed as full time students next year. I will be doing a pgce with a bursary. I was wondering will the maintenance loan aspect of the student finance push us over the 19k limit for the childcare grant as we both will be receiving the maximum amount, and is the bursary also classed as income or is it disregarded?

Hi there. When assessing the household income we would not include the Maintenance Loan you are awarded and a bursary would also not be counted as taxable income so neither of these would be taken into account. Thanks, David
