Does Bsc Physical and Environmental Sciences allow me to take Masters in Astronomy?

I wanted to know if it was worth studying Bsc in Environmental Science with a minor in Astronomy and Astrophysics to pursue a Master's degree in Astronomy. Or is it necessary to take bachelor's in astronomy for it?

Hi,
If you want to do an astrophysics master's I'd advise considering a physics course or an applied mathematics course with some physics content. From what I've seen, Master's courses in astronomy generally tend to want a physics/astrophysics degree or another physical science degree with a significant maths component. There may be exceptions for which a minor in astronomy and astrophysics would be sufficient, but I'd recommend checking the course entry requirements for master's courses that you're interested in.
Hope this helps,

Going on daughter who has graduated with physics and what she tells me, if you was to do a masters in astronomy, then its worth taking a physics degree which has astrophysics modules or cosmology modules in there. You need a lot of maths and usually in the first and second years of physics they teach you the degree level basics so you can make the necessary calculations. In physics they also teach you how to code as well, so which comes in handy.
If you want to work with energy side of things, then maybe branching out in nuclear physics or particle physics is a good way to getting into clean energy if thats what you are interested in in regards to helping the environment.

If, you wanted to go further and go into a research position in astro (same goes for daughter in particle), they usually are looking for phd students, so you would need to go that one step futher, so thats something to bear in mind.
