Cambridge medicine ⚠️

I finally did my UCAT and I got 3530. BEFORE ANYONE SAYS IM LYING - IM NOT LYING, I’m genuinely so pleased.
So my predicted a levels are A* A* A* A*
My GCSEs are 999998888777 but 3 of my 9s are resits.
Im worried about my GCSEs bc many applicants will have all 9s and NO resits. I’m aware that my UCAT is very strong but I’m so scared for my gcse grades.
I may apply to Cambridge and if I do apply do I have a very good chance of getting an interview? Or should I not risk it ?
Pls help me, thank you in advance

Ok first of all, HUGE congratulations you must be so proud!!
Second of all, Cambridge doesn't look at GCSEs really so I'd say you would be an extremely strong applicant - if it was Oxford it might be a different story as they weigh GCSEs quite heavily.
Make sure you prepare well for the interview though as this is the one if the main things which Cambridge use to determine!
Good luck - I'm sure you'll do amazingly well 🫶

Oh my goodness, now that is a huge score. Congratulations!

Re Cambridge, my comments from your other thread stand. Check the non-resit GCSE profile requirements. Similarly, go to the Megathread and sense check your other strategic choices too.

Also, double check the learning style for Cambridge. It’s the old 3/3 preclinical split which doesn’t suit all.

Cambridge is a fabulous place to go to uni. And you have fabulous scores!

whoa that ucat score is amazing! I think cambridge is worth a shot, although they do care about interviews a lot as well but not so much gcses. Its best to apply for schools that rely on the ucat heavily for selection and I think some medical schools rank ucat scores with higher ucat scores more likely to gain admissions? (I dont remember their names at the top of my mind). Anyways, good luck with your medical journey! (Btw, I know this is not part of your enquiry but do you have any tips on the ucat?)

Oh yeah Bristol uses 100% UCAT for interview selection!

Practice practice practice - do many mocks
I started revising in summer of year 11 but only bc I was aiming for a UCAT of 3500+

how many mocks would you do per day?? I dont know a lot about the ucat yet but most people I know have advised me to revise maybe 2-3 months before the ucat for some reason. Would you run out of resources or get burnt out if you did this? And if so how do you deal with this?

Those are great grades! I would actually consider applying Oxford though as they have more emphasis on UCAT than Cambridge. Cambridge seems to be more holistic I think.
