How do you find out how many positions a council has open?

One of the interview dates for one of the london councils is one day after the submission deadlines for locations? I’m hoping that gets amended or will they only accept people who live in London already?

Where is this reflected please? Does it become visible once you submit your 5 council choices?

just in case someone knows from previous years, how many people do they usually invite to interview at councils vs how many actually get a job offer? i had assumed that a majority of people who pass AC get a job somewhere, but now worrying it could be more like 1 in 3 or 1 in 5 or something even higher!

There’s 250 people through to this stage and 180 positions so there’s quite a good chance of getting a job. And don’t forget some people will withdraw their application at this stage.

During AC I asked how many people get through to the final stage from the assessment centre and she said 1/4 or 250, and the email we received said there are 180 positions available, I guess some councils will be more popular and therefore more competitive?

Has anyone picked their choices yet? Is the deadline for the personal statement different or can we submit choices and then submit personal statement later with the end of april deadline? (i haven’t been able to get to a laptop yet so haven’t seen it in desktop view)

Hi Everyone ! I am in Cohort 26 currently on the scheme in Barnsley. I interviewed and got offered places at both North Tyneside and Barnsley. As a student at Newcastle Uni I was set on staying in the North East however I was so impressed with the opportunity at Barnsley that I decided to move to Sheffield and take the place at Barnsley.
