My council called me to confirm my references and I was able to get it changed. But I wanted to know if they’d let me know when they email my refrees or if they just do it without telling us
They usually do it on their own accord, but if there’s an issue with a reference i.e they haven’t filled in the form then that’s when they’ll contact you - to ask if you can reach out on their behalf.

Does anyone know when we'll know if we've been allocated a 2nd round interview? I'm also hoping the councils will be flexible with interviewing virtually at this point, but is there any info about that too?

Who got EMCCA? I noticed they were hiring. Good luck everyone!

Good luck to anyone with St Albans! Don’t worry if you end up doing the interview online instead of in person, they still took me that way!

Hiya guys, im new here and wanted to ask - i unfortunately didn’t get a place following my interviews, but Ive recently been contacted by one of the councils to interview for a finance position, as my background / qualifications aligned (econ degree, non profit finance work) aligned with that. I didn’t know this was an option, but to be honest im content with the leadership qualification snd not having to do a finance qualification that takes 4 years and is more study based. Any advice? Has anyone had something similar happen? I haven’t had any other interview offers for second round so if it was a bonus one i wouldn’t mind.

I’m actually an older career changer, (27) so I will be applying to other full time positions while I volunteer and continue my work as a tefl tutor. I am waiting to hear about a Channel 4 researcher one year scheme so we’ll see if that happens, but otherwise will just keep applying to things. What about yourself?

I hope this isn’t rude I’m just curious, when did you graduate and what made you want to change careers? You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to ofc! ☺️

I would do it!! It doesn’t hurt to try it and you lose every opportunity you don’t apply yourself too 🫶🏼

I graduated my degree in 2019 and my masters in 2022. I worked in a market research company which was fascinating but by the 2 year mark, i hit a wall of poor work/life balance and interest in the area. Been working as an english teacher ever since and hoping to get into a new field soon 😊

One more chance for both of us, congrats on getting another London interview 🙂

How did yours go? I think mine went well, so at least I thought it was a good discussion 😊

Happy yours went well!
Mine is on Wednesday, more anxious than I was for the previous interviews somehow

I think all councils should be just as friendly. You’ve got this! Mine really all put me at ease and it helped me to relax and do as good as I could 😊

50/50 - Eager to do better than my last interviews after recieving feedback (sadly only one of the councils gave it) but it's been such a long process! You? I wonder how many vacancies they have as they had 6 interview slots for the second round

i think their council information page said they have 4 positions, but we shall see! i wonder when we will find out.

yeah im feeling nervous especially after getting rejected in the first round of interviews, so im ready to get it over with hahahha. good luck

Do you remember how long it took for your contract to come through after completing the pre-employment checks? Mine were completed about a week ago, but I’m still waiting for the hiring manager to review everything and confirm it’s satisfactory—just wondering what your timeline was like!

Yesterday, I received my final offer, contract, and start date what a journey it's been! This was hands down the longest recruitment process I've ever experienced, but honestly, I thoroughly enjoyed every step, embracing both the anxiety and the excitement. And a huge thank you to this forum; your support kept me going throughout! Wishing you all the very best in your new roles.
