hey there my friend, kings is a strong semi target after the top 6 being oxbridge lse imperila ucl and warwick, typically with the likes of bath bristol durham etc. it's more so the uni than the degree I've heard but your degree is stem so you're calm bro you are brill in that aspect. I hear that tho; that it's not really what kcl is known for but it's stem regardless. but i'll say something about this at the end. kcl is also in london so the networking opportunities will be nice as well. it really does depend on putting yourself out there though; there are several people on linkedin from kcl who have ended/will end up there (final years rn ought to graduate), same with universities like notts, birms, bristol and others, whereas there have been some people who go to say warwick, ucl or imperial for example out of the top 6 who have not been able to make the srping weeks in y1, summer internships in y2 and then convert those to summer analyst graduate roles by y3. you are very determined, ambitious and hard working I've seen it, seems like you are on track for 3 A*s and an A minimum. Now here's the thing I wanted to say at the end.
I see that you've been trying v hard to find out if ucl participated in clearing/whether they are anti clearing. well, ucl offered triple e; Electronic and Electrical Engineering BEng and MEng last year; it is a possibility that they might also offer it, this year. now the two years aren't dependent on each other I get that; they are independent events, but also even who knows maybe even mechanical engineering might be available (slim, since it's more competitive but you'll never know, depends on how people found the exams this year). you can find this online by searching ucl clearing 2023 whatdotheyknow and it should be the first link or suttm. you could always try and– well make sure you're up very early though to check n refresh– but on results day this year you could maybe perhaps check and see, if they have any engineering courses available via clearing. this isn't something to give wishful thinking or a plan to bank on, but, it is of course an option that is very possible, alright.
and also; since you are looking into IB in particular wherein the course does not so much so matter but rather the university, you could (if no engineering courses on ucl for example are available but other ones such as management are), consider, maybe, clearing into a course different to engineering like that one (was available last year for instance), or something like it (there was Chemistry with Mathematics B/MSc, Earth Sciences B/MSc, Natural Sciences B/MSc, Astrophysics, Physics, Theoretical physics, Economics and Business, and other ones). now this is all on the hopes that in your situation, they would go into clearing for some courses you that if on time you could look into, but yeah there's that, still. but you're good bro either way, please, you're gonna be fine, trust man. also warwick too entered clearing but unfortunately there were no vacancies for any types of engineering but there were for stem courses such as physics, physics with astrophysics and chemistry, should any of those interest you. but yeah, overall, kcl is able to break you into IB/finance (especially in london since it's in london), in the same way other russell group universities such as nottingham, birmingham, exeter, durham, bristol, manchester, etc. etc., plus your course is stem (though stem or humanity it doesn't really matter but stem shows a quantitative nature which is really good still), it may be a little bit harder. but after the intial application stages; it's no longer the university name, my friend. it is all just then down, to you; you yourself, who you are as a person. it'll be more than just grades and university name after you work your way up the corporate ladder, so you're fine. best of luck man
