Forgot to cite source in essay competition!

Yeah id agree you should email, they should understand that it was just an error- has the competition deadline passed or did you submit your entry early? They might be a bit narked if its passed but it should be fine, wishing you luck!

Hi! Very quick one as I’m kind of panicking lol. I submitted an essay to one of the Oxbridge essay competitions and, reading it back, have realised that one citation of mine is missing - either I forgot to cite it or deleted it at some point (was messing around with the formatting). What’s the best thing to do here? Should I email and correct the mistake? I signposted it with ‘As ________ stated’ but I’m really worried about plagiarism disqualification.
Correction: there’s a lot of sources that the citations have deleted. I’m probably just going to email, with an updated version (old version attached above for transparency) and explain the situation. So so embarrassing 😭

what essay competition was it? i wrote one and im sure if you email to correct your mistake you’ll be fine

Update! Just got an email back and they were very nice about it. Second entry has been accepted 🙂 yay!
