Future after sixth form

Hey I'm an 18 year year old who finished my alevels this year. My a levels have been bit complicated because I went to to two schools at same time to study another subject cause my school didn't have the a level (geography) . And also I dropped chemistry at start of year 13 because I got Es in year 12.so did two years worth of applied science in one year so I had basically no free periods. How I got into that mess is because I chose the subject others were encouraging me to do. But now as a young adult I decided not to go uni straight away because I'm feeling unsure about the course I'm doing and what career I desire. I'm going to college for a year but that's means I'll be studying with 16 year olds.I was wondering if anyone has had similar experiences studying with youngers cause I feel nervous not just because of that but also because my friends are advancing their education and lots of people (including family) have told what I'm doing is stupid. But i really love the college course, but I wonder if I'm just wasting my time.

nah its is always best to do your own thing if you've thouught it through and aren't just doing it out of fear or something. I know ppl who've had to retake y12 (one girl from drug addiction and general mentalness but she's smart). and ik a bunch of ppl who've started uni at 20/21 or older and this is at cambridge, and they were fine socially and academically. try and get as much work experience/ knowledge of what u might like to do as you can. i agree is silly to go to university while very unsure of what you actually want to do
