I’m so tired of doing things for people and it’s never reciprocated

I’m so tired of doing things for people and it’s never returned. I’m always the first one to innate conversations, and no one checks up on me. I’m always the one suggesting outings and no one ever respects my ideas. They never want to follow through with something I’ve arranged or want todo. I’m so tired of fake people. I’m reclaiming my time. Focusing on me. I don’t care if this is selfish, but I’ve been the one to continuously reach out to others and no one is doing the same on their end. No one wants to meet me halfway, they expect me to go full lengths and it’ll be OKAY, but nope!

I think the best thing you can do is focus on yourself and improving who you are. I've learned to deal with people not reciprocating because some people just aren't willing to return favours, but don't let that get you down. I'm actually the same as you in this regard, I'm usually the person to start conversations with people and very few actually give me that courtesy in return. I think our society has lost touch with the meaningfulness of being upfront and sharing, probably because of fear or because they're just looking out for themselves, but people like us are quite the rare breed. I think you need to find people who will reciprocate if it gets you down that much.
