confused about results day and clearing

can someone tell me step-by-step exactly what I have to do on results day if I want to go through clearing. I've seen that I need my personal statement on hand and I don't know what questions I should expect to be asked (I need to know in case I get another family member to call at the same time as me). I've been researching clearing and some unis don't have a clearing number but an online application form too.

I doubt a university will accept another member of the family ringing on your behalf.

You would need your grades, subjects and clearing number which you will be given if you are rejected by your firm and insurance. Many universities wont release details until results day.

Hi there,

Clearing can be a really confusing time, but don't worry - universities are here to support you.

As you mentioned, it's important to do your research into the universities you're interested in to find out how to contact them on results day - whether that be through their Clearing hotline, live chat or enquiry form. Make sure you have your UCAS ID, GCSE and college exam results on hand.

It's also important to research what courses are on offer and where - check the UCAS website and university websites to see which courses are in Clearing and still have places available.

We have some useful information on our website here and a blog post here which may support you, whether you're interested in Teesside or elsewhere.

Wishing you the best of luck! 😄👍️
Thanks,

Do you have a UCAS application?
Do you have a firm offer?

Yes I do I put the university of Leicester as my firm and uni of Birmingham as insurance but it has grade requirements anyway. I'm only thinking about clearing because I'm not sure I want to stay in Leicester.

Hi there,
The Student Room have some excellent resources that tell you how you can navigate clearing (already posted in this thread). This blog post may also help.
