Results day anxiety

Hi everyone, i know it's probably not even that deep but I am very anxious for results day as I know I've definitely not met the grade requirements, that being said I would like someone to please let me know how likely it is I get accepted on this hypothetical course.

If i was told I need BCC however i get A*A*E, would that make any difference in their decision to accept me considering despite me getting far better in 2 subjects, I get far worse in one?

Typically, if you transfer the results over via UCAS points and they still meet by that criteria, you should be able to be offered a place, despite not meeting the set criteria. During this time, universities 9/10 will offer you the place. As long as it is within that UCAC point score.

Incorrect - if the offer was made in grades then that is what the Uni wants, they are not interested in total UCAS points equivalents,

Simpy, no-one knows at this stage, not even the Uni.

It will depend on

How many other people meet their offers

How many spaces - if any - are left on that course.

What grades/how low that Uni decides it can go for that course to fill those spaces, or of they want higher grades than you have.

Yes, its all a bit scary, but you can't do anything before Results Day and you could easily have done far better than you think.

Hello.

I can offer some kind of answer to your question and worries.

It would depend on the University. Some Universities do accept candidates with slightly lower grades than what they offered, but I think (and tell me if I am wrong) that this depends on if they have places to fill on that course once clearing commences etc. Thereby, if a course was A,B,B and you got A,B,C they may give you an unconditional place - but this is not always the case. Regarding someone getting A*,A*,E, I think that this is unlikely. Maybe they'd get something like a C or B grade, but I doubt if they got A* in their other subjects that they'd get below a C grade on another unless something went seriously awry in all of their examinations, or the revision processes, for that course. But if that did happen, then it would be down to that specific university department to accept them or not.

I don't think you've got anything to worry about at this stage. What's done is done. You've done well in my mind to get through your exams and coursework for L3. Try to enjoy your summer and I hope that results day in August goes well for you!
