Seeking Advice on Schroders 2025 Graduate Intake

I hope this message finds you well.

I am planning to apply for the Schroders 2025 Graduate Program in London. I graduated in September 2023 with a degree in International Business. Last year, I applied for the 2024 intake but was not successful. This year, I am determined to reapply and improve my application.

I would greatly appreciate any insights from those who have successfully navigated the application process. Specifically, I am interested in learning:

1. What aspects of your application made you stand out?
2. What did you do differently that contributed to your success?
3. How can I effectively tailor my application to increase my chances of progressing through the application round?

Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

Good Luck with your application! I applied this year for the first time but they haven’t gotten back to me yet. Have they gotten back to you?

I applied for the wealth management apprenticeship for schroders to start September 2025, done the online assessment on the 13th February, the video interview on the 18th and haven't gotten word back since, until the 12th march where they sent an email saying they've received my interview and they'd take 3-4 weeks to review and provide an outcome so in short my total timeframe from me doing the video interview to me finding out if I passed or not is 7 weeks. Has anyone received rejection emails or emails progressing them to the assessment centre stage already?

Hey! I’ve done the AC for a schroders summer internship before. I remember the application process being really long. Took 2 months from the video interview for them to give me an AC offer! I remember doing the psychometric test in August/September?!

I wouldn’t assume you’ve been rejected yet as they do take their time

Wow that’s quite a while, congrats on making it to the AC, I’m sure the 2 month wait was frustrating and had you second guessing yourself, it’s doing that for me right now. May I ask what the AC consisted off so I know what to expect as this would be my first ever AC I would have done before, I wanna walk in prepared. Many thanks!

Of course! Was my first AC and I was reserve ☺️ I applied to a summer marketing internship, the questions vary for you. Hopefully some of these help:
1) group exercise, you get given a lot of information. As a team you pick an option which you think is best to go with! The case study changes each time. Advice: be the time keeper, they liked how I was the leader, make sure to include everyone, be open to others ideas - build upon or even challenge!

2) individual interview, similar to the video interview. Motivational based, sharpen your commercial awareness, be honest about your answers! Schroders has a high employee retention rate, it’s important the people they recruit reflect them and embody their values.

3) individual presentation, you get given lots of information again. You then pick an option to go with! You present the findings to the assessors.

I’ve done a lot of assessment centres since Schroders (summer internship / graduate level) feel free to PM me with other questions as I’m more than happy to help! First AC can be quite daunting so I feel you ☺️

Hi Sarah, these might sound cliché but they work trust me, look directly in your camera, it'll feel awkward a bit but you gotta soldier it through, don't go on other windows while you're doing the interview looking for answers coz 9/10 they can find out you've done so so best to prepare beforehand, look the part as it's better to be overdressed than underdressed, be authentic and original so don't sound like you're reading of a script and saying generic things that they've heard a million times over. smile here and there but don't force it as you'll look creepy, too eager and overly friendly. And be passionate about the answers you're giving them.

Hello! First of all congrats on getting to the video interview stage  most likely means you’re passing one of the trickier stages - the psychometric test!

Tips:
1) stare directly at your laptop camera (definitely agree with above)
2) smile! Really works!
3) STAR (situation task action result) + key learning method is an amazing structure
4) read the job description, paste it into AI and ask it to generate interview questions. Great way to practice and sometimes the same questions come up!
5) prepare for why this company? Why this scheme? Do your homework - it will make you stand out. A few companies may not have these questions as they are more “strengths” focused - keep this in mind!
6) job simulations, read the description carefully. Use the information wherever possible!
7) depending on the industry you could be asked…. What impacts their line of business? Or what in the news is impacting us? In a few grad interviews I have been asked

Good luck! Always here if you have any questions
