Do individual grades matter when applying for a course that accepts UCAS points?

Hi,

I am currently studying BTEC Applied Science (National Deploma) and A-Level Sociology. My predicted grades are D*D (for BTEC) and D (for A-Level).

I am looking at applying for Nursing at university (particularly Adult Nursing) and I was wandering if my grades matter when they are looking at my UCAS points. I am currently predicted to get 128 UCAS points from my predicted grades but I’m worried some universities will look at the grade I am predicted to get in A-Level.

Do universities look at individual grades when an applicant through UCAS applies?
Does the uni website specifically say that they make offers based on points? (Not on UCAS)

Most of them would say 104-120 points (or something similar).

I would need the specific wording on one example to advise further.

“104-120 points
Our offers are typically made using UCAS tariff points to allow you to include a range of level 3 qualifications and as a guide, the requirements for this course are equivalent to:

A-Levels: BCC-BBB from 3 A Levels or equivalent grade combinations (e.g. BBB is comparable to ABC in terms of tariff points)

BTEC/CTEC: DMM from BTEC or Cambridge Technical (CTEC) qualifications

International Baccalaureate: To include a minimum of 2 Higher Level certificates at grade H4”

For anywhere with wording like that, they will most likely only be interested in your points total, but you can always contact them ahead of applying to check if you are concerned.
