End of BRP 31 Dec 24. What's next for photo ID

International students' BRPs will expire 31st Dec this year. It would no longer be a thing. Employers and landlords will require to validate right to work and right to rent via eVisa.

What will international students use as photo ID? Uni student ID does not always show DOB.

You’d use your passport as photo ID, presumably, in the same way that lots of British citizens do.

You'd carry your passport to the supermarket when you want to buy alcohol or when you go clubbing?

Hey there ,
I would advise you to get your provisional license permit done , it is a good form of ID that you can carry even if you decide not to eventually get your license . It costs around £34 and it lasts 10 years .
I hope this helps !

Thank you, Cece! Really appreciate it! I was asking for my international friends as I don't need a BRP and wondered what advice to offer them.

Yes. This is entirely normal. If I go to Europe, I am usually legally obliged to have my passport on my person at all times.
