Warwick Accomodation

I am about to choose accom for wawrick and they are asking questions e.g what time I wake up/ go to bed etc
they also ask about hobbies. How is this info used to put people together in accomodation?
They use it to put you with people similar to you, so you all wake up/go to bed at similar times so nobody keeps anyone awake too much. They use the hobbies to try and put you with people they think you'll get along with.

I was in a very big flat (13 people) so I don't think they could make it so everyone would get along. I'm quite quiet and go to bed quite early, which I put on the application, and there were still a couple people who would be loud late at night (if you have this problem, loop earplugs are great!). The hobby thing seemed to work though as there were a few people in my flat who I shared interests with. Overall it's still a matter of luck whether you'll get people you get on with, but hopefully this does help.

I don't want to put anyone off Warwick- I was in Jack Martin, and the accommodation itself was truly excellent. The only thing I didn't like about the accommodation was how loud the fire alarm was. Their own accommodation in Lakeside is much more tolerable for that exact reason.
But yes, the people who tried to 'match' me with others did a truly woeful job of it.
I think I just got extremely unlucky with the people I lived with. There were 11 people, including me. Out of those 11, three were outright bullies that enjoyed picking on specifically me. Two further girls had a severe lack of understanding when it comes to what is acceptable to say to others and what is not. There were only 3 people who I got on with (one disappeared after the first year and the two others had possessive boyfriends which caused an extremely painful argument between us in December for the first one and an eerily similar event with the other the next August).
For my choices, I remember asking for a quiet corridor and also answering these questions. It wasn't really that quiet because a floor beneath us was causing a fire alarm all the time (the record was three times in a single day).
I seriously doubt you will be this unlucky.
