My Placement Experience in New York

Hi everyone!
I’m Emily and I study Fashion Design at BCU.

Last September I was lucky enough to travel to New York for New York Fashion Week!
After working on a project with university over the summer, it was time to head to New York to showcase some of my work in a catwalk show.

As soon as we arrived we got to work to prepare for the show. Leading up to the show, I helped with model fittings, styling the catwalk looks and assisting with pre-show publicity events.

Then it was show day! I helped dress the models for the catwalk and then got to watch all the hard work come together in the final show. It was such a surreal experience to watch my designs walk down the runway!

I also had some free time to explore New York. I visited Central Park, the Met, and had a trip to Brooklyn, and tried loads of American foods too.

I had never been to America before, so this was such an exciting trip, and has been a great experience to add to my CV.
