Who wrote this test? Some out of touch academic?
a A nibble is half a byte and therefore very common. However it's very rare to hear anyone in the industry talk about nibbles.
b Yep a Byte is 8 bits
c A megabyte is a million bytes and therefore 8 million bits.
d High quality photos? Are we talking about RAW files from 45 megapixel mirrorless or DSLR cameras - at 50 megabytes per photo (20 per gigabyte). Or some jpgs that would still be very high quality when seen on a computer screen - which might be about 250 photos per gig?
e Nobody in the industry talks about main storage. They talk about hard drives, or SSD's or disk drives. But yeah, storage capacity does tend to be in terabyte units these days instead of gigabyte.
f yeah
g False. SSD's are secondary storage
h false
i true. Almost always.
Nobody in the industry uses the term "primary storage" or "secondary storage". Instead they talk about RAM, ROM, Cache, SSD's, hard drives, mechanical hard drives ETC. IE they are more specific.
2 a primary storage
b primary storage
c memory card (they usually have soldered chips for storing info when powered off. These may use SSD technology, but they're not discrete SSD's. It's a poorly written question.)
d HDD (seems to be the best answer in this context)
e memory cards
3 DSLR / mirrorless cameras. Mobile phones. Tablets. Dashcams, remote surveillance cameras...
4 a Primary storage is the academic answer. RAM / ROM is also a valid answer.
b too big, prone to failure with the sort of bumps that phones and tablets get, slow when compared to the alternatives, typically uses 6 to 15 watts vs 1 watt for SD cards - ie battery drain.
