1) What are your A level subjects/ grades, and your GCSE Maths grade.
2) Did you achieve high grades in your first year.
3) Do you want to transfer to Year 2 or restart at Year 1.

Hi, just to give you an idea we offer Computer Science at Canterbury Christ Church University, our Canterbury campus is less then an hour's train journey from London. Check out the courses details on the following link including the module information for year 2:

Computer Science - Canterbury Christ Church University

Searching on UCAS would be the best place to start - JD

Have you looked at Liverpool Hope University? I did my undergraduate degree in IT there and they were very good. They are now ranked 7th in the UK for Computing and IT according to the Guradian university guide. They have small class sizes and the lecturers really get to know you on a personal level and know your strengths and weaknesses which helps when it comes to doing assignments as their door was always open to me when I needed them.

I am currently doing a masters at University of Huddersfield in cyber security online as I work and I find them to be very helpful as well.

The best advise I can give you is look at citys you would be interested in living in outside of London and go visit some of the Uni's see what suits you. Its not a one size fits all.

You can apply for just 1 University, you have a maximum of 5 choices should you wish to - JD

I'm afraid the information you've been given by the CCCU rep is incorrect if you're looking to switch this Autumn.

Universities are now in confirmation/clearing and you would have to submit a UCAS application using clearing. This complicates things quite a bit and means that you'll need to speak to universities directly and informally before adding a clearing choice.

You'll need a full UCAS application - including a new PS and a reference from someone at your current university.

The University Transfer FAQ at the top of applications, clearing and ucas explains some of the basics in the first post but you've left this incredibly late. Transfer applications take much longer than year 1 applications so you may find many universities won't be willing to consider you now.

oh damn i thought universities would love accepting students seeing as they get money for it. so i should stop looking for unis to transfer to since ive left it late

I didn't say that
I said because it's late your options might be limited. Get cracking on putting together your UCAs application (including approaching your current tutor for a reference) and get on the phone

I would just call them up and ask its a transfer not a new fresher application as you would be going into 2nd year. Places like Liverpool Hope, Manchester Met, Huddersfield all will consider you but most tutors would be on summer break now so you might not get a quick answer.

What is your current grade do you know are you on for a 1st, 2.1, 2.2.? As that will be the deciding factor as if they will accept or not.

Is it just computer science your studying or do you want to specialise?

Your original post said just passes that might limit you as the final classification for those is usually a 3rd. Lucky for you in 1st year it doesn't count like 2nd and 3rd year does but to transfer in you can bet they would look at it.

Have you considered maybe doing a HND and top up degree at an FE college as a fall back option?

I have to be honest and say this will be a dealbreaker for most unis, whether it's for year 1 or year 2 entry.

Nothing to lose by trying however.

Apologies, yes if you was looking to apply this year applications would need to go via clearing, 2025 applications you can have up to 5 choices - JD

It is good to know they focus on small classes. At York University the cohort was about 350 students, no support at all. Just a DIY degree. I thought that was the standard in the UK.

Not everywhere is like that we had 40 in our final year.

My partner did a top up degree at an FE college though Sheffield Hallam they had 13 in her class and had a lot of one to one support. I know people knock doing a degree at a college but the small class sizes are a plus.
